Aparna A Banka

Aparna was born and raised in India. She did her Undergraduate studies in India and Master’s degree in Birmingham U.K. She moved to the US in 2003 where she began pursuing her CPA degree. Montessori has been around Aparna and her family for many years now. Her son currently also goes to an AMI Montessori School. Stepping Stone Montessori is a dream venture for Aparna and her family and has been launched in the name of her beloved brother, who is no longer with them. This institute has been created with lots of love, care and hope for a bright future. Aparna has been working successfully in a family run Apparel business for the past 10 years and has now embarked on this new journey of her life.

Cathy Mauragas

Cathy Mauragas

Cathy has over 35 years of experience in Preschool Education and the Child Care industry. She has been a teacher in every classroom over the years, as well as, a director for the past 20 years. Cathy believes that the first five years of a child’s life is when the true groundwork for all possible future achievements is made. She is very excited to be a part of a community and philosophy that embraces the child as an individual, recognizes their natural abilities, and encourages life skills; components that build character, self-esteem, and independence.

Primary Guide – Cumming Campus

Sherry Weeks

Sherry Weeks is a Primary Guide at SSMS. She has a double masters in General Education and Special Education for first to sixth grade. Her emphasis is on Autism. Sherry has been teaching in the traditional school system and in Montessori for 30 years. In New York she taught for twelve years in the Administration for Children Services as a resident teacher. Then moved to the private sector where she has been ever since. Sherry has been with SSMS since July of 2014. Her goal for her children is to promote the love of learning. Sherry is passionate about running marathons and supporting Autism Speaks events.

Angie Yonzon

Angie Yonzon is a Toddler Guide at SSMS. She has a Master’s degree in History and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from India. She is currently attending the Montessori Teacher Education Institute in Atlanta to receive her AMS Credential for Infant Toddler (birth to 3) program. Angie was influenced to become a Montessori Guide once she was exposed to the serenity of the Montessori environment and witnessed the focus and concentration of the children in the classroom. Angie began as a preschool teacher in India and then taught history at the high school level for several years before moving to the USA. In her free time, Angie likes to be outdoors and loves to read books.

Liliana Daza – Cumming Campus

Liliana Daza

Liliana Daza is a Toddler Guide at SSMS. She was born and raised in Colombia. She is currently attending the Montessori Teacher Education Institute in Atlanta to receive her AMS Credential for the Infant Toddler (birth to 3) program. Liliana has a Bachelor Degree in Nursery Education and a Bachelor degree in Intelligence from Intelligence Academy in Colombia, two years of experience in a Montessori school, and four years in a child care facility. Her passion is to teach and guide children to reach independence through nurturing, guidance, and practical experiences. When she is not teaching she enjoys, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

 

 

Jessica Rosa

Jessica Rosa

Jessica Rosa has been with SSMS in our Infant Room for 2 years. She has been teaching infants for 10 years. She has her Child Development Associate Certificate in Infant/Toddler. Jessica loves being with the infants. She chose the Montessori Method because she truly believes in the value of a Montessori education. Her goal as an infant teacher is to “help my babies grow into independent, happy and thriving toddlers.” The Montessori philosophy supports Jessica’s belief in helping babies help themselves. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.

 

 

Tumpa

Tumpa Haldar

Tumpa Haldar has been with SSMS in our Infant room for 2 years. She has a BA in Fine Arts. She has been teaching children of all ages for over 11 years. While in India, Tumpa taught children from the primary level to 12th grade. She believes that the Montessori Method helps children to be more independent. As a teacher Tumpa assists the children in reaching milestones like holding their bottle, crawling and walking. She interacts with the children through sign language and lots of love and care. Tumpa’s hobbies are creating art with various mediums and fundraising for a good cause.
